Roadmap
This roadmap reflects committed and released NSW Email Framework work, plus the next delivery steps for this NSW Email Toolkit documentation site.
Now (released work)
Recently delivered in framework releases:
- Framework platform updates – released in v1.92.0 (7 March 2026), including
@maizzle/frameworkupgrade to 5.5.0 and template/profile refactors with visual regression improvements. - Template reliability and fallbacks – released in v1.91.0 and v1.89.0, including safer optional property handling and consistent HTML attribute escaping across components.
- Component variants – we have added new variants for every component to support more composition options while keeping a consistent NSW design language.
- Statements and Acknowledgement of Country blocks – we have launched new statement components and dedicated acknowledgement blocks/templates for compliance and culturally appropriate communications.
- Social blocks – we have added a social block component and expanded social presets for common footer and engagement patterns.
- Content blocks – we have added new content blocks and content sections to support richer newsletter and update templates.
- Authoring standards and CI guardrails – released in v1.83.0, v1.80.0 and v1.77.0, including style-guide standardisation, family smoke checks and template-convention workflows.
- Token upkeep – released in v1.89.1 with
@nswds/tokensupdated to 2.27.0.
Next
We're planning to work on:
- Magic link template launch – release the new magic link template set for secure, low-friction sign-in and verification journeys.
- Password reset template launch – release the new password reset template set for recovery flows with clear actions and accessible fallback content.
- Generic newsletter base templates – launch new reusable base templates for newsletter production so teams can start from consistent, approved patterns.
- Event signup template launch – release the new event signup template to support campaign and program registration communications.
Future
We'd like to explore:
- Builder launch – deliver a guided email builder that helps teams assemble NSW-compliant emails from reusable blocks and templates, then export clean HTML quickly. This reduces manual coding effort, speeds up production, and improves consistency and accessibility across campaigns.
- More templates are being built – expand production-ready templates across engagement and promotional, leadership and insider, and special-purpose families.
How we prioritise
We choose what to work on by looking at:
- committed and released framework changelog evidence
- feedback from teams using the framework
- accessibility and compliance requirements
- security and dependency health
- alignment with the NSW Design Standards
